Travis Kelce stepped to the softball diamond on Saturday to partake in a charity game alongside a number of other NFL stars.
The event, sponsored by Browns tight end David Njoku, featured a home run derby and a fan meet-and-greet at Classic Auto Group Park in Cleveland.
Kelce, who previously played baseball in high school, attended the game with Browns players Myles Garrett, Nick Chubb, Deshaun Watson, and Amari Cooper.
Former Cowboys star Dez Bryant was also present, as were former Browns receiver Josh Gordon and safety Jabrill Peppers.
Bernie Kosar, a former Cleveland quarterback who previously met Kelce’s girlfriend Taylor Swift at the tight end’s Kansas City mansion, also attended the gathering.
Travis Kelce appeared at the game on Saturday in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio.
Kelce won a home run derby before the game and homered in his first at-bat, too.
In one video, Kelce was seen having success during the home run derby, which he supposedly won.
Kelce is a Cleveland Heights, Ohio native who grew up as a three-sport athlete.
As a senior, he topped the Cleveland region with a.538 batting average and was rumoured to be pitching at 90 mph.
In reality, after being kicked off the University of Cincinnati football team for drug use in 2010, Kelce briefly explored a baseball career, playing summer ball in a wooden-bat league.
“He was playing right field,” Brian Cleary, former University of Cincinnati baseball coach and current Washington Nationals scout, told The Athletic. ‘As they take in-and-out [warmups] and as he plays pregame, he’s the best baseball thrower I’ve ever seen in my life.’
However, Kelce’s abilities were called into question when he threw a now-infamous first pitch for his hometown Cleveland Guardians last season.
Kelce participated in the game among other NFL stars such as Myles Garrett and Amari Cooper.
His girlfriend, pop singer Taylor Swift, is presently on tour in Edinburgh, Scotland
Kelce’s pitch hit the infield grass, ricocheted off the backstop, and across to the cameras.
He dashed over to check on Guardians pitcher Shane Bieber, who was hunkered behind home plate but never had a chance at fielding the errant throw.
Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs quarterback who pitched in college and is the son of a former Major League player, responded on Twitter with a swarm of laughing emojis.
‘Ayyy, @Royals, give him another opportunity. ‘Asap!!!’ he wrote.
While Kelce is enjoying his NFL vacation by playing softball, his girlfriend Swift is on tour in Europe.
The pop sensation will be in Edinburgh, Scotland, for the weekend before heading to Liverpool.
