The Kansas City Chiefs star appeared for the team’s second consecutive Super Bowl ring presentation in a bright red outfit. 

“Smooth operator, baby,” the tight end said as he went down the red carpet at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art Thursday night. 

When asked what inspired the costume, he said, ‘Chiefs Kingdom, baby,’ according to reporter Matt Derrick.

Fans may be forgiven for thinking Kelce was following in the footsteps of his girlfriend Taylor Swift, who became synonymous with the colour red after releasing the same-titled album in 2012.

Meanwhile, Patrick Mahomes’ wife Brittany received a red letter. 

She chose an off-the-shoulder gown with vivid red tassel details. 

Her hubby looked as glamorous in a black suit jacket embellished with black stones. 

A stack of silver necklaces and a matching chain bracelet rounded out the quarterback’s accessories.

Kelce piqued fans’ interest with a teaser video published by the Chiefs on social media just hours before kickoff.

The iconic tight end was seen holding three fingers aloft to commemorate his third Super Bowl victory, while pointing to his ring finger. 

Whether intentional or not, Swift’s devoted fan base interpreted the video as a playful reference to the couple’s engagement rumours.
