Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets has once again revealed that the NBA offseason is his favorite season of the year.
The three-time MVP has taken an early break from basketball after his Nuggets were eliminated in the second round of the 2024 playoffs.
Denver lost the Eastern Conference Semifinals to the Minnesota Timberwolves in seven games.
The loss meant that Jokic’s offseason began in the second half of May.
And the 6-foot-11 center appears to be making good use of his free time.
Earlier this week, a video surfaced on social media showing the Serbian demonstrating his dance talents at a party.
NBA fans loved seeing Jokic, 29, try to unwind after a difficult season.
“Bro don’t even remember he’s an NBA player in the offseason,” accompanied by a laughing emoji.
“Basketball is a side hustle for this guy,” he wrote, along with a laughing emoji.
“Can you imagine if Jokic liked basketball 1/4 as much as he likes the offseason,” someone another said.
“It should be illegal to be this tall and this damn smooth,” a person wrote.
Jokic couldn’t wait for the offseason to begin, even though the Nuggets won the championship last season.
Following Denver’s title-winning Game 5 victory over the Miami Heat, the six-time All-Star was informed that he would have to remain in the United States until the team’s championship parade later that week.
“No,” Jokic answered with a disappointed tone in his voice.
“I need to go home.”
During the same press conference, Jokic was humorously overwhelmed by the volume of congratulatory notes he received.
Throughout the 2023-24 regular season, Jokic averaged 26.4 points, 12.4 rebounds, 9.0 assists, and 1.4 steals.
Meanwhile, the 2024 NBA Finals are turning up to be a fairly one-sided spectacle.
The Boston Celtics seized a 3-0 series lead with a 106-99 victory against the Dallas Mavericks in Game 3 on Wednesday.
Luka Doncic, the Mavs’ star, was widely chastised for his poor performance in Game 3 after being fouled with four minutes remaining.
Doncic accepted responsibility for his faults in the key game, claiming he let his teammates down.
“It was tough, probably wasn’t the smartest thing,” he said of being fouled out of the playoffs for the first time in his career.
