While Jayson Tatum created history on Monday night by leading the Boston team to an NBA championship, supporters mocked the player for his ‘corny’ post-game celebrations. After leading a championship-winning team in points, rebounds, and assists during the playoffs, Tatum became just the sixth NBA player since 1980. The next day, he celebrated the Celtics’ victory on social media with the post “What they going sаy now.”

However, supporters swiftly attacked the 26-year-old, accusing him of steаling other people’s festivities.

Someone brought up the fact that Stephen Curry had already shared Tatum’s statement on X following his Warriors’ 2022 NBA Finals victory over the Celtics.

One user commented, “Steаling Steph’s quote [heartbreak emoji] corny.” 

Recalling Kevin Garnett’s iconic ‘everything is possible’ remark during the Celtics’ 2008 championship victory, Tatum came under fire from others.

After the Celtics defeated the Lakers 106-88, Tatum exclaimed, “We did it,” during an ESPN interview. However, many fans were not pleased with the performance.

Someone said, “Wow, that fell flat. Tatum was literally trying to manufacture his Garnett moment there.”

At the Celtics celebration that followed, Tatum also reiterated a passage from Kanye West’s controversial 2005 Grammys speech.

“Everyone was curious about what would occur in the event that we lost.” We’ll never know, I suppose.’ he remarked.

One X account accused him of attempting to “recreate every iconic moment he ever saw as a kid in 1 night,” which was another reason for criticism of that decision.

Some questioned Tatum’s performance because he only made 38.8% of his field goals in the championship game and was occasionally overshadowed by teammates Jaylen Brown and Jrue Holiday, the latter of whom was named Finals MVP.

“Superteam carried you,” a supporter remarked.

Another pushed, “Win an MVP win a [Finals] MVP win a [Defensive Player of the Year].”

“You are the only NBA champion in history to have a decline in value following a championship.” That’s what they’re going to sаy,’ said one other enthusiast.

Tatum is hardly likely to give a dаmn about what his detractors think now that he was spotted affectionately rejoicing with his son, Deuce, following the game.
