Throughout the 2024 NBA Playoffs, Jaylen Brown was the Celtics’ much-needed hero. He won MVP of both the Eastern Conference Finals and the Finals, helping Boston win its 18th NBA championship.
But sometimes, even heroes need a helping hand. And hordes of Bostonians flocked to support the Californian when Brown misplaced a diamond ring during his team’s title parade.
Ultimately, Brown’s hopes were answered when two Celtics supporters pulled his sparkling treasure out of the parade route’s muck.
The 27-year-old guard had promised to give out a “big reward” to anyone who could assist him in finding the ring, which had plenty of diamonds and his personal brand, “7uice,” emblazoned on its face.
Brown had a lot to give the two players with his $285.9 million contract, which was the second-largest on his club behind Tatum’s historic extension.
The prize was appropriate: He gave the fans courtside seats to the Celtics’ championship ring ceremony, which is probably going to take place on the first night of the NBA season in 2024–2025. In addition, he gave them a signed jersey and basketball.
Discovering Brown’s most valuable item was like discovering a needle in a haystack. After all, during the championship parade, almost a million Celtics supporters poured into Boston’s Causeway Street in an exclamation of happiness and exhilaration.
While navigating through the fandom’s storm clouds in one of Boston’s renowned duck boats, Brown misplaced his ring.
It’s expected that Brown will receive his official championship jewellery on the first night of the next season. Before lowering their flag into the rafters, defending champions are usually dressed in their championship rings.
When that moment comes, though, his other fingers won’t be as empty thanks to Luke and Adi’s valiant search and rescue effort.
