Jamal Murray, tired from wrestling with UFC champion Alexander Volkanovski, was nearly ready to tap out in under a minute

Alexander Volkanovski, the UFC featherweight champion, has tested his abilities by squaring off against Jamal Murray, the point guard for the NBA champion Denver Nuggets.

However, once they were on the ground, the variations in height and size became inconsequential. Volkanovski, who stands at 5’6″, normally meets taller opponents, although none are as huge as Murray. Murray stands 6’4″ and weighs 215lbs, but NBA defenders are typically taller and heavier. Murray recently sought out Volkanovski to learn about striking and grappling methods from the UFC’s pound-for-pound top fighter.

Soon after mastering his new talents, the 26-year-old Canadian was anxious to put them to the test and brazenly challenged Volkanovski to submit him within 60 seconds. “I’m not going to let myself get submitted in just a minute,” Murray declared. “If you try to submit me within that timeframe, my goal is simply to survive.”

Volkanovski accepted the challenge with a smile, taking a minute to define the rules of their grappling match. Murray was open to Volkanovski going all out and trying every submission technique to save leg locks.
