Team USA had a dominant performance over Nikola Jokic and the Serbian Olympic team. Following Wednesday’s 105-79 triumph, coach Steve Kerr complimented the Nuggets’ center as a very gifted player and one of the most difficult to guard.
With three NBA MVPs and a championship ring to his name, there’s not much else to say about Jokic’s ability. Throughout the game, Kerr tried different defensive looks at “The Joker” in the hopes of slowing him down. He finished with a 16-point, 11-rebound double-double.
During his post-game interview, Kerr praised Nikola Jokic’s greatness, which was published by Basketball Sphere on X, now known as Twitter.
“Nikola Jokic is the best basketball player in the world,” Kerr told reporters. “He’s so good at everything, but tonight just wasn’t his night.”
The Warriors coach designed a successful defensive coverage for Jokic that included the Lakers’ Anthony Davis and the Heat’s Bam Adebayo. Both play center in the NBA, but Adebayo was shifted to power forward to showcase his stature. It appeared to work, as the Nuggets’ superstar went 6-of-9 from the field, including 0-of-4 from beyond the arc.
