To hear that Pat Benson of Sports Illustrated has deemed the Jordan Tatum 1, the basketball player’s signature shoe, the best footwear of 2023, has given Jayson Tatum immense joy. Benson’s piece and the list it was tied to’s cover photo were both published by Tatum on his Instagram story.

The last time Tatum unveiled his first signature shoes was at the NBA All-Star Game, when he took home the Most Valuable Player trophy for the midseason classic. The sneakers currently retail for $120.

The Sabrina 1, the signature shoe of Sabrina Ionescu and made by Nike, Jordan’s sibling business, came in second place in the rankings.

Other shoes from the Nike umbrella that made the list include the Nike KD16 (ranked fourth), the Nike Ja 1 (ranked fifth), the Jordan Luka 2 (ranked tenth), the Nike LeBron NXXT Gen (ranked eleventh), the Nike LeBron 21 (ranked twelfth), the Nike Freak 5 (ranked thirteenth), the Nike Book 1 (19th), the Air Jordan 38 (20th), and the Jordan Zion 3 (ranked twenty-first).

The fact that an Air Jordan sneaker made it into the top twenty-three shows how influential Michael Jordan and his legendary shoes have remained throughout the years, even though he has been retired for twenty years.

The eleventh iteration of Steph Curry’s iconic sneakers, which are now rated third, are known as “Curry 11.” This is the first signature sneaker that Curry has released since he and Under Armour agreed to a new long-term cooperation pact.
