The Denver Nuggets are now a front-runner to sign Russell Westbrook πŸ‘€

ο»ΏThe Denver Nuggets have been linked to veteran point guard Russell Westbrook since it was reported that the Los Angeles Clippers were planning to trade him. Denver is in need of another veteran guard after losing two rotation guards this summer, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Reggie Jackson.

While Westbrook is still under contract with the Clippers for next season, it is assumed that both sides will seek to part ways, either through trade or buyout. If Westbrook is not transferred immediately to Denver, he has a good chance of signing with the Nuggets after completing a buyout with the franchise to which he was sent.Feb 26, 2023; Denver, Colorado, USA; Los Angeles Clippers guard Russell Westbrook (0) dribbles the ball up court in the first quarter against the Denver Nuggets at Ball Arena. During the NBATV broadcast of Friday night’s game between the Nuggets and Clippers, Denver head coach Michael Malone was asked if his club needed another point guard, and he was candid in saying that he believes they do. Evan Sidery on X: "Russell Westbrook and the Nuggets maintain strong mutual interest, per @Tjonesonthenba (https://t.co/0hcnbMVxR3). “You can never have enough point guards,” Malone remarked. “And Jamal Murray, in his eight years in Denver, was primarily a backup two guard.” But he is a starter, and the benefit of having another point guard is that it allows us to put Jamal off the ball in that second unit, where we can feature him more, since he is equally great on and off the ball… “Having someone behind Jamal is an extremely important position for us.”CΓ³ thể lΓ  hΓ¬nh αΊ£nh về 3 người, mọi người Δ‘ang chΖ‘i bΓ³ng rα»•, Γ‘o bΓ³ng rα»• vΓ  vΔƒn bαΊ£n

Westbrook’s name was not spoken, as Malone is not permitted to discuss a player still under contract with another team, but it appeared that the Nuggets’ head coach was eager to add another point guard. Another ball handler would benefit both Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray by reducing their workload during the season.
