The Celtics and Sam Hauser have agreed to a four-year, $45m deal

According to a person with knowledge of the situation, Sam Hauser and the Boston Celtics agreed to a four-year, $45 million contract deal on Sunday, adding another player to their championship core.

With 197 3-pointers, Hauser has the second-highest percentage of any Celtic, only surpassed by Jayson Tatum. He has now signed an extension this summer along with guard Derrick White, his All-Star teammate.

Hauser will be compensated $2 million prior to the 2025–2026 season, when his deal begins. Under the condition of anonymity because it had not been revealed, the person confirmed the arrangement to The Associated Press.

Hauser went from being a Virginia player who was undrafted in 2021 to being a key member of the Celtics. He averaged a career-high 9.0 points per game while starting 13 of his 79 appearances during the previous campaign.

With 42.4% of his shots coming from 3-point range, Hauser was 11th in the NBA. Among players who have Һit at least 250 3-pointers in their career, his 42.2% career percentage is the highest in Celtics history.The 6-foot-8 big made 10 3-pointers in less than 23 minutes during a March 17 victory over Washingtоn, which was the fewest minutes in NBA history for a game with 10 or more 3-pointers.

The 76ers upset the Celtics 103-98 in the last Summer League game.

The Celtics finished Summer League with a 2-3 record after losing to the 76ers 103-98 to end their ten-day trip in Las Vegas.

After missing the previous two games, Drew Peterson was added back to the starting lineup along with Jordan Walsh, Anton Watson, Baylor Scheierman, and Killian Tillie. From the bench, Tyler Cook, Jaelen House, and Tristan Enaruna contributed.

After breаking out of his shooting funk to make his first three three-pointers of the game, Walsh finished with 18 points on 7–14 shooting. He also finished with two blocks, two assists, and seven rebounds. He did, however, eventually commit six turnovers and at times seemed rushed.

The absence of JD Davison, Neemias Queta, and Jaden Springer from this Summer League allowed other unsigned players to gain more playing time. All three of those players played in and did a fantastic job in the previous one.

Jaelen House, who came off the bench, contributed 17 points and 6 assists in their place. House is a problematic guard out of the University of New Mexico who was not picked. His father, Eddie House, is a former Celtic and is currently a commentator for NBC. He might be an intriguing addition to Maine. He was introduced in the final two Summer League games.

Tyler Cook, who went to high school with Jayson Tatum and has been playing overseas for the past four years, got the largest +/- for the Celtics. Cook added 16 points on 5–8 shooting as well.Anton Watson scored 15 points, pulled down 4 rebounds, and disheveled 3 assists to continue his stellar Summer League campaign. Watson is already rated as an NBA-caliber defender by D.J. MacLeay, and as the Sumer League progressed, Watson became more comfortable attacking the basket.

Watson told CelticsBlog after the game that talks about his two-way might happen soon.

“I do think we will resolve that matter this week,” Watson said. “Those discussions will definitely happen soon.”

The lead was still 33-30 for the Celtics at the end of the first quarter and 52-49 at the half. Nevertheless, they trailed by 10 points going into the fourth quarter after losing 34–21 in the third.

With eight points in the fourth quarter, Baylor Scheierman led a late charge that made the game a one-possession contest. But in the closing seconds, Scheierman and Walsh both missed open three-point shots that had the potential to tie the game.
