Doncic is prepared for the Mavs’ Game 3 clash against the Boston Celtics. Dallas needs a win on Wednesday night to get back into the series after falling behind 2-0.
Doncic has taken the Mavericks to the NBA Finals for the first time in his career. The franchise last appeared on the largest basketball platform in 2011, when it defeated the Miami Heat in six games. Dallas has found itself in a similar scenario as the Celtics, who possessed the NBA’s best record.

Doncic scored at least 30 points in each of the first two Finals games. However, the Mavericks have struggled with the Celtics’ stout defence and outside shooting. The European great is averaging 31.0 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 6.0 assists in the Finals. He also averages 3.0 thefts.
Despite Boston’s hounding defence, Doncic has shot the ball efficiently, shooting 51.1% and 38.1% from beyond the arc.

Luka Doncic most certainly requires another pain-relieving shot for Game 3.
Luka Doncic’s availability for Game 2 was called into question due to his soreness. He was able to witness action on the court, though, after apparently taking a painkiller. Doncic had a fantastic performance, scoring 32 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists.
On Wednesday night, before Game 3, ESPN’s Tim MacMahon claimed that Doncic could receive another shot:
“Luka Doncic received a pain-killing injection before Game 2 to numb the area of his thoracic contusion, sources tell @malika_andrews and me. The idea is that Doncic will get another chance before Game 3.
Doncic is not on the Mavericks’ injury list and will most likely play. With the series in their favour, the Celtics need their franchise player more than ever.
